Your home should work for you, not against you. MediHealth Connect provides NDIS-funded domestic assistance and home modification services across South East Queensland — keeping your living environment clean, safe, and accessible so you can focus on living, not struggling with household tasks.
When your disability makes household tasks difficult or unsafe, domestic assistance ensures your home stays clean, tidy, and liveable. MediHealth Connect's domestic assistance services include general house cleaning and tidying, laundry — washing, drying, folding, and ironing, kitchen cleaning and dishwashing, vacuuming and mopping, bed-making and linen changes, grocery shopping, garden maintenance — mowing, weeding, and general upkeep, and rubbish and recycling management.
These tasks are funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan when your disability prevents you from completing them independently.
Our domestic assistance workers are reliable, respectful of your space, and consistent. We send the same worker wherever possible, because someone who knows your home and your preferences does a better job.
These are lower-cost changes that don't require structural work. Examples include grab rails in bathrooms and toilets, non-slip flooring or mats, hand-held shower heads, lever-style door handles and tap replacements, ramp installations for step-free access, key safes and smart locks, and improved lighting in hallways and entryways.
Minor modifications are typically funded under your Core or Capital Supports.
Larger modifications that involve structural changes require assessment by an occupational therapist and approval from the NDIA. Examples include bathroom renovations for wheelchair access, widening doorways, kitchen modifications (lowered benchtops, accessible cabinetry), ceiling hoists and tracking systems, and accessible ramp construction.
Complex modifications are funded under Capital Supports — Home Modifications in your NDIS plan.
Your occupational therapist assesses your home and recommends modifications. The recommendations are submitted to the NDIA for approval (for complex modifications). Once approved, MediHealth Connect coordinates with qualified builders and tradespeople to complete the work. We manage the project from assessment to completion, keeping you informed throughout.
Yes. They're funded from different parts of your NDIS plan — domestic assistance from Core Supports and home modifications from Capital Supports. You can access both simultaneously.
For complex modifications, yes — an occupational therapist needs to assess your home and write a report justifying the modifications. For minor modifications like grab rails, an OT assessment is recommended but may not always be required.
Minor modifications (grab rails, non-slip mats) can often be completed within a few weeks. Complex modifications (bathroom renovations, doorway widening) may take several months depending on NDIA approval times and builder availability.
MediHealth Connect coordinates the modification process and engages qualified, licensed tradespeople to carry out the construction work. We manage the project on your behalf.
